Acts 9:1, 2 “Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and requested letters from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, either men or women, he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.”
“The Way” is: Conduct Of Christ’s Followers. Much of what you are about to learn will be part of what is ahead in the Kingdom that must be learned and adhered to. This will give all of you a head start. Much of Yahweh’s commands can be learned even now. You will take them with you when you are Raptured; so, write them across your heart.
“THE WAY” – YOUR CONDUCT AS A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST THAT YAHWEH EXPECTS FROM HIS CHILDREN
Being a footstep follower of Christ is not just a belief; it is a learned way of life:
Acts 9:1-2 Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and requested letters from him at the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to The Way, either men or women, he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
Acts 19:9, 24 But when some became hardened and would not believe, slandering the Way in front of the crowd, he withdrew from them and met separately with the disciples, conducting discussions every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. For a person named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines of Artemis, provided a great deal of business for the craftsmen.
Acts 18:25-26 The man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught the things about Jesus accurately, although he knew only John’s baptism. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. After Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him home and explained the way of God to him more accurately.
2 Peter 2:2 Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and because of them the way of the truth will be blasphemed.
Your conduct in life should be patterned after that of Christ:
1 Peter 2:21 For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps.
John 13:15 For I have given you an example that you also should do just as I have done for you.
1 Corinthians 11:1 Be imitators of me, as I also am of Christ.
1 John 2:6 the one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.
The right conduct is important. What each person that claims to be of Christ does in life, reflects either credit or discredit upon Yahweh, Christ, and the vessel of people that belong in Unity with the promised Kingdom:
1 Peter 2:12 Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do evil, they may, by observing your good works, glorify God in a day of visitations.
2 Peter 2:2 Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.
2 Corinthians 6:3-4 We give no opportunity for stumbling to anyone, so that the ministry will not be blamed. But in everything as God’s ministers we commend ourselves.
1 Peter 3:1-2 Wives in the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the Christian message, they may be won over without a message by the way their wives live.
Titus 2:4-8 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, pure, good homemakers, and submissive to their husbands, so that God’s message will not be slandered.
Wrong conduct becomes rooted from wrongful desire:
James 1:14-15 But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires.
Genesis 3:6 Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Matthew 15:19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches people to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever practices and teaches these commandments will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:28 But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Romans 1:24-26 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.
Ephesians 2:2-3 In which you previously walked according to this worldly age, according to the ruler of the atmospheric domain, the spirit now working in the disobedient. We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts and by nature we were children under wrath, as the others were also.
Psalms 7:14-15 See, he is pregnant with evil, conceives trouble, and gives birth to deceit. He dug a pit and hollowed it out, but fell back into the hole he had made.
To cultivate right conduct in Yahweh’s eyes, requires putting on the new personality that transforms the mind:
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is of the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
1 Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance but, as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.
Ephesians 4:22-24 you took off your former way of life, the old man that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds.
Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his practices and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of his Creator.
Philippians 4:8 Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable – if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise – dwell on these things.
